The OUTPUT GOOGLE operator allows you to generate one or more files from the data flowing through the data bus and upload them to Google Drive on a selected user account. The operator receives a data stream as input, transforms it into a file or files in the format specified by the user, and then automatically uploads the result to the chosen location on Google Drive.
With this operator, you can:
- automatically export and archive data in Google Drive
- share data and files with other users or applications through shared Google folders and accounts
- integrate data from GRAVITY processes with Google services without manually transferring files.
The OUTPUT GOOGLE operator is very similar in configuration to the OUTPUT FILE operator—it provides the same options for selecting the file format, file naming, data formatting, and serialization.
Key differences and features:
- An additional Google account connection, tab, where you can select an already defined Google account connection or create a new one to enable authorized access to Google Drive,
- A configuration option to specify the target location on Google Drive (folder/directory) where the files will be uploaded,
- Support for all file formats available in the
OUTPUT FILE operator,
- The ability to upload either a single file containing the entire dataset or multiple files, depending on the selected format and configuration.
This operator is a perfect solution for automating data export to Google Drive, supporting seamless information exchange and collaboration within the Google Workspace environment.
Example GRAVITY project using the OUTPUT GOOGLE operator:
SELECTING AND CREATING A GOOGLE CONNECTION
To connect to a selected Google account, you must choose the appropriate Google connection. Go to the first tab of the operator properties: Google account connection.
If you already have an existing connection, select it from the Connection dropdown. The connection fields will be populated according to the selected connection.
You can modify the connection details by using the Edit button.
In the Connection field, select one of the previously defined connections. If no connection exists or you want to add a new one, you can use the Add button to create it.
After entering the details of the new connection and completing authentication, you can test it using the Test button and save it in the system by clicking Save.
After saving, the connection will be available in the system under the name specified in the Name field.
FILE STORAGE LOCATION
The generated files will be stored on the Google Drive of the user authenticated during the connection setup, in the specified location. On the Output file properties tab, you must define how the file name is constructed, select the target folder, and specify what should happen if a file with the given name already exists in that folder.
- The File name field defines how the file name is constructed.
- The Text file recognization field allows you to decide how to proceed when a file with the selected name already exists in the specified Google Drive folder.
- Always create new file → A new file will always be created, regardless of whether a file with the specified name already exists.
- Update an existing file or create new file → If a file with that name already exists, its contents will be overwritten.
- The Dictionary name, Dictionary Id, and Dictionary mimeType fields are populated with data from the selected folder after you click Select a destination in google drive. The Dictionary Id field uniquely identifies the folder where the files will be saved.
You enter the file name manually. You can also use system parameters, project parameters, or bus bits to dynamically generate the file name.
To parameterize the file name, click the parameters button, then select an item and confirm the insertion with the Insert button.
You have three options to choose from:
In the Google Drive folder browser, clicking Choose current folder selects the folder you are currently viewing.

The folder fields are then populated.
