Output operators

Output operators

Output operators close every data processing path within a GRAVITY project. Their main purpose is to deliver the processing results to a selected destination — which can be a database, a file, an external system, a message broker, or a response to a network client in the case of service-based projects.

The data received by an output operator can come from various sources — databases, files (CSV, XML, XLSX, JSON), external applications, system memory, or other operators within the same project. The output operator is responsible for properly preparing and sending this data in accordance with the format, protocol, and destination defined in its configuration.

You can use any number of output operators in a project. Each one closes an independent processing path — therefore, a GRAVITY project is considered complete only when all data flow branches end with an output-type operator (or a special operator such as END OF PATHEND OF PATH ).

Output operators make it possible to, among other things:

  • write data to relational SQL databases or non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB),
  • generate and transfer files via FTP, email, Google Drive, and similar services,
  • send messages to queue-based systems such as RabbitMQ,
  • return responses to TCP or HTTP clients in service mode.

With its wide range of output operators, GRAVITY can flexibly integrate with any external environment, providing full control over the format, timing, and method of data delivery.
