The CONVERTER operator enables the transformation of values contained in selected bits of the data bus using predefined, built-in conversion functions. The operator works at the level of individual records of the input data bus and allows data to be modified without changing its structure.
Available conversion operations include, among others:
- changing the data format (e.g., number → text, text → date),
- text transformations (e.g., trimming, changing letter case, extracting substrings),
- mathematical operations (e.g., rounding, scaling),
- logical and conditional conversions.
The result of the operator’s execution can be written to the same bit or to another specified bit in the data bus. The operator does not change the number of bits (columns) or the structure of the data bus—the original width is preserved.
OPERATOR CONFIGURATION
Configuration is based on selecting the conversion type from a list, the source field, and the target field.
Field conversion is performed in the order in which the items appear in the list. Therefore, a data bus bit used as the Result column in a subsequent conversion will already contain the value produced by the previous conversion.
The following conversion types are available:
- Compress GZip → compresses the value of a text field using the GZip algorithm. The target field must be of type Blob.
- Decompress GZip → decompresses a field value using the GZip algorithm. The source field must be of type Blob, and the target field must be of type Text.
- Encode to base64 format → encodes the field value into base64 format.
- Decode from base64 format → decodes a field value encoded in base64.
- MD5 → generates a hash of the field value using the MD5 function.
- SHA1 → generates a hash of the field value using the SHA1 function.
- Encode HTML → encodes characters that are not allowed in HTML, for example:
"<hello>world</hello>"will be encoded as"<hello>world</hello>" - Decode HTML → decodes a string encoded using Encode HTML,
- Encode URL → encodes characters that are not allowed in a URL, for example:
"hello+world = hello world"will be encoded as"hello%2Bworld+%3D+hello+world" - Decode URL → decodes a string encoded using Encode URL
- Encrypt AES → enables encryption of the selected bit’s data using the AES encryption algorithm.
- Decrypt AES → enables decryption of a bit value that was previously encrypted using the AES algorithm.
