The SORT operator allows you to order the records on the input data bus according to specified sorting criteria.
In the operator configuration, you can specify one or more columns (bits) by which the data will be sorted—either in ascending or descending order. The operator does not change the content or structure of the records; it only changes their order.
On the output data bus, you receive a data stream sorted according to the defined rules.
Typical use cases include:
- preparing data for reporting,
- organizing data before grouping or aggregation,
- sorting records before export or further processing.

SORT KEY CONFIGURATION
You can define a sort key composed of any number of data bus columns by clicking an empty row in the list on the Sort key tab. For each selected column, you specify the type—that is, the sort direction (from highest to lowest or vice versa).
