INPUT FTP

INPUT FTP

The INPUT FTP operator allows you to retrieve data from files located on an FTP server. It works in the same way as the INPUT FILEINPUT FILE operator, except that the data source is an FTP server rather than the local file system. At the operator input, you define the FTP source, the type of file to be retrieved, and the file-specific processing configuration, while at the output you receive a data bus with a data stream.

Depending on the type of file retrieved (e.g., CSV, XLSX, XML, JSON, Binary, Text), the output data bus may consist of different bits corresponding to the data structure in the file.

This operator is often used in system integrations where data is periodically transferred as files uploaded to an FTP server by external partners or other systems.

SELECTING AND CREATING AN FTP CONNECTION

Go to the first tab, FTP connection, in the operator properties.

If you already have an existing connection, select it from the FTP Connection dropdown list — the connection fields will be filled in according to the selected connection.

You can modify the connection details by clicking the Edit button.

Remember that if the connection is already used by another operator, that operator will also use the modified connection.

If you have not yet defined your FTP connection in the system, you can always add one using the Add button.

After entering the new connection details, you can test it using the Test connection button and then save it in the system.

Once saved, the connection will be available in the system under the name provided in the Name field.
