Automatic Invocation via REST API

Invoking GRAVITY from an external application via the REST API follows these steps:

  1. Start the Gravity.exe application.
  2. Create a project using the Projects option
  3. Add a WebService trigger using the Triggers option, and note the Alias field. This value is used to create the endpoint for calling the API.
  4. Check the server address settings (from the Options menu) and service invocation permissions. Note that connecting via HTTPS requires a certificate bound to the port. For development, use HTTP instead, e.g., http://localhost:9010/GravityApi
  5. Start the GravityTriggersRunner.exe server or restart the gravity.integration service.
  6. Call the trigger as a REST API from an external application (e.g., Postman).

About invoking a Web Service function, you might be wondering how external software can communicate with the GRAVITY process.

Make sure to review the detailed configuration and communication guide for the gravity.integration server:

and the descriptions of the operators that handle input and output data transfer:

If you have configured a Trigger of type Webservice you also need to configure the Web Service server (via the Options menu). This server makes all Webservice Triggers available to external software. Each action is identified by its unique Alias. Invoking an action starts the GRAVITY application (process) linked to it.
