The GRAVITY system includes a CRUD API wizard that significantly speeds up the creation of web services for basic data operations — reading, writing, updating, and deleting (the standard CRUD set: Create, Read, Update, Delete).
In a typical API development scenario in GRAVITY, each of these operations would require creating a separate project and a corresponding webService trigger. When working with multiple tables, this task becomes repetitive, tedious, and time-consuming — and the generated projects are usually very similar in structure.
The solution to this problem is the CRUD API wizard, which:
- automatically generates four GRAVITY projects dedicated to handling CRUD operations for the selected table,
- creates linked webService triggers, assigning the appropriate REST API methods to each project (e.g., GET for read, POST for create, etc.),
- takes into account the schema of the selected table — ensuring that input and output operators are configured for the specific data,
- provides consistency and time savings, eliminating the need to manually duplicate similar projects.
This tool allows you to quickly expose a CRUD interface for any table — simply select the table and data source, and the generator will handle the rest. The projects created by the generator can, of course, be further customized to individual needs — for example, by adding validations, additional data transformations, or business logic.
This solution is particularly useful in situations where:
- you need to quickly expose internal system data as an API,
- you want to automate basic integration operations without extensive configuration,
- you need consistent and predictable project structures within the GRAVITY system.
CREATING CRUD OPERATIONS FOR A TABLE
Use the Create CRUD option to generate the projects.
The wizard will guide you through the creation process.
In the first step, select the database connection you want to use. Then choose the database table for which you want to create the projects.
After selecting the table, you will see the project creation panel, where you can create projects implementing CRUD operations.

In the form, select the project and trigger folders, or create new ones using the New button. In the list, you can change or accept the suggested names for the projects and triggers. In the Create column, select which CRUD operations should have projects and triggers generated.
When everything is ready, click the Finish button to generate the projects. After the wizard completes its work, you will see your operation in the list.

From this view, you can:
- delete the entire CRUD definition (both the triggers and projects will be removed),
- preview individual projects,
- preview individual triggers,
- delete a project and its trigger for a specific operation.
The created projects can be found in the directory you selected.
