Creating a Time-Based Trigger

Creating a Time-Based Trigger

If you want to configure application execution using a time-based mechanism, you must select TRIGGERS from the main menu.

By selecting New..., you can add a new configuration for automatic execution of the GRAVITY application.

After selecting New…, you must choose the type of automatic trigger from the list.

When choosing the time-based execution mechanism, select the SCHEDULER option from the list.

In the PROPERTIES section, you must also specify the GRAVITY application (project) that will be associated with the configured trigger.

To complete the configuration, you must also specify how the execution time is defined.

You can choose from the following options:

  • Specific date → the trigger will execute only once at the specified date and time.
  • Every few minutes → the trigger will execute for the first time at the specified date and time and then repeat at the defined number of minutes.
  • Every few hours → the trigger will execute for the first time at the specified date and time and then repeat at the defined number of hours.
  • Every few days → the trigger will execute for the first time at the specified date and time and then repeat at the defined number of days.

To activate the trigger, you must set the Enabled switch to on.

If you want the system to send an email to specified recipients when a process error occurs, select the Send mail when error option.

If the project uses parameters, you will see them in the Parameters panel as a name–value list. By clicking the value, you can enter a default value for the trigger parameter.

The default value will be used if the trigger does not receive a value for this parameter from the invocation (for example, REST API, database, RabbitMQ, etc.) and will be passed to the executed project.
