CONTEXTThe company uses ERP software that includes reporting functionality. However, there are processing tasks and reports that, due to the volume of data and the complexity of processing, take too long to execute, preventing users from using them effectively in practice.

Speeding up data processing. Aggregated data for selected reports and analyses is available in cache.
EXAMPLE USE OF GRAVITY
Step 1
Creating a project whose purpose is to keep freshly processed calculations and aggregations in server memory (benefit: fast access to processed data).
In the project, the INPUT SQL operator can be used to retrieve data, and the COMPUTING operator can be used to process the data. The processed, aggregated data is stored in temporary storage that is available to other projects (the OUTPUT MEMORY operator).
The project is triggered by a scheduling mechanism with a short interval configured.
Step 2
Creating a project whose purpose is to deliver data for presentation.
In this project, the INPUT MEMORY operator is used to quickly retrieve data, and the OUTPUT DATA operator is used to expose the data for a WEB SERVICE function.
The project is invoked as a WEB SERVICE function from the ERP system.
