CONTEXTThe company uses ERP software that does not provide WEB SERVICE functionality. The software is effectively “closed,” and integration can be performed solely at the SQL database level.
TASK
The goal is to “open” the software by creating WEB SERVICE functions that can be called by any external IT system.
EXAMPLE USE OF GRAVITY
Step one
We create functions that external systems can call (for example, save an order, retrieve the item master data, retrieve customer credit limits, etc.).
Step two
We start the WEB SERVICE server in GRAVITY.
Action
Through this server, by invoking a WEB SERVICE function with the appropriate parameters, the ERP software can trigger the processing defined in GRAVITY (within the scope defined in step one).
