The process of automatically sending a delivery order. The action is based on a database notification trigger (detection of delivery order approval). The delivery order is sent to the supplier’s email address (the OUTPUT POST operator).
EXAMPLE USE OF GRAVITY – Automatic Import of Delivery Receipt Documents
Automatic retrieval of the delivery receipt document.
We assume that the supplier’s IT system places the delivery order file in a specific location unique to each supplier. These locations are continuously scanned by GRAVITY. When a delivery order file is detected, it is added by GRAVITY to the ERP system as a warehouse delivery receipt document using the WEB SERVICE functionality of the ERP system (that is, by using the CALL WEB SERVICE operator—assuming that the ERP provides such functionality).
The retrieved delivery order file is moved to a different location (downloaded delivery orders).
