The BUSBAR MERGE operator enables the merging of two data buses with a compatible logical structure, producing a single combined data stream at the output. The operator’s behavior corresponds to the UNION operation known from SQL—it combines data from two sources while preserving their order and structure.
On the input side, the operator accepts two data buses. The data to be merged must be logically compatible—for example, they may come from different sources but represent the same type of information.
The output data stream:
- contains the sum of records from both inputs,
- has a width (that is, the number of bits/columns) that depends on the operator configuration, which defines which bits from the input data buses are passed through.
The operator does not perform any matching or aggregation—it simply combines the input records into a single output data bus. This enables straightforward integration of data coming from different process paths or external sources.

OPERATOR CONFIGURATION
Configuring the operator consists of selecting bits from the two input data buses that correspond to each other in terms of data nature and type (the First busbar columns and Second busbar columns). The selected bits from both data buses become a single bit on the output data bus with the name specified in the Name column, and the number of records on the output data bus will be the sum of the records from the two input data buses (equivalent to an SQL UNION).
You can merge bits automatically by clicking the Autogenerate columns button.
The system will automatically attempt to match bits based on their names and data types.
You can always match bits manually by clicking the field corresponding to the first data bus and selecting the appropriate bit from the list, then clicking the field corresponding to the second data bus and selecting a bit from its list as well.
If data exists on one data bus but not on the other, select the None bit. During processing, the system will populate the missing bit on the other data bus with a NULL value.
You can remove a selected mapping using the remove buttons, or by right-clicking the selected row and choosing Delete or Delete All from the menu.
