OUTPUT MEMORY

OUTPUT MEMORY

The OUTPUT MEMORY operator collects data from the data bus stream and stores it in system memory. This data is organized into tables that consist of columns (data bits) corresponding to the structure of the data on the data bus.

This operator enables you to:

  • store data in memory while a GRAVITY process is running,
  • reuse collected data multiple times within the same process or in other GRAVITY projects,
  • reduce the need for frequent retrieval of data that rarely changes from external sources.

Data stored in memory by the OUTPUT MEMORY operator can be accessed and reused through the INPUT MEMORYINPUT MEMORY operator, which retrieves the specified tables from memory and loads them onto the data bus for further processing.

Example of a GRAVITY project using the OUTPUT MEMORY operator:

CONFIGURING THE OPERATOR

On the Memory table tab, specify the name of the table where the data will be stored.

On the Memory table columns tab, select the columns that will make up the memory table.

The configuration consists of moving (via drag and drop, double-click, or navigation buttons) columns from the Column to choose list, which represents available data bus bits, to the Memory table columns list, which represents the columns of the memory table.

Each time a project containing the OUTPUT MEMORY operator is run, the data in the memory table managed by this operator is overwritten.

To ensure that memory tables are populated with data when the system starts, consider using a trigger of type Event.
